As we move further into the season of fall, I want to bring to your attention a number of opportunities in our parishes to grow in Catholic Faith. First, this coming Wednesday we will
have our a Generations of Faith presentation. I will present on the process of canonization in the life of the Church. I will try to answer questions such as: What is the process the Church
follows when someone is proclaimed a saint? Can we really know if someone is in Heaven with God? Is it possible for any of us to be saints? And I can think of more questions that I will discuss. I encourage you to attend the meal and the presentation – only a two hour commitment – with a free meal!
Please rsvp on the sign-up sheet in either parish or contacteither parish office.
Second, Holy Mass will be celebrated November 1, 2014 – the Solemnity of All Saints – at 7:30am at the Church of St. Paul, Zumbrota. This Solemnity is not a Holy Day of Obligation this year, but I encourage you to attend and ask the intercession of our friends in Heaven! The next day, November 2, we celebrate All Souls Day. On this day we will pray in a special way for the Souls in Purgatory.
Third, the Church of St. Paul will host a Book of Revelation Bible Study starting November 3. Studying the Bible is an excellent way to grow in knowledge of Jesus and our Father’s plan to bring us home to Heaven. I encourage you to seriously consider taking part in this Bible study!
Fourth, our youth in grades 6-10 will be participating in a youth retreat to be held November 8, 2014 at the Church of St. Michael. Youth in grades 11 and 12 are also invited to attend! Please keep them in your prayers!
Fifth, I will be leading a Sacrament of Confession Seminar on two upcoming Fridays: November 14 and 21. I will give the teachings of our Church on this wonderful Sacrament and answer any questions that you may have. Plan now to attend!
Sixth, on November 18, 2014 our parishes are going to teamup to provide a meal for the homeless at Sharing and Caring Hands in Minneapolis. We are also taking up a special
clothing and household items collection. Please more details on the back page of this bulletin for ways you can help!
Seventh, our Little Flowers and Scouts of St. George groups are actively meeting. It is not too late to get your daughters or sons involved in these wonderful organizations. The groups meet at the Church of St. Michael, Pine Island. Any families from our parishes are welcome to participate!
I encourage you to participate in these wonderful opportunities to grow in our Catholic Faith!
Through the intercession of Mary, Queen of the Holy Rosary, St. Joseph, St. Michael and St. Paul, may God bless our families, parishes, Archdiocese and the whole Church!
