Open Window Theatre Play
February 24 - March 26
The original Open Window Theatre saint drama that started it all. This critically acclaimed play is back for its 10-year anniversary this Lent!
Mercy Unrelenting tells the remarkable true story of the young Italian martyr, St. Maria Goretti. The play starts on June 23rd, 1950, the eve of Maria’s canonization as a saint of the Catholic Church, a ceremony that attracted an unprecedented half-a-million people to Rome. In light of renewed interest in the story, controversies around her canonization, and rumors of an astounding miracle in the life of Maria's killer, an ambitious female journalist arrives at an obscure monastery seeking answers from the mouth of the reclusive murderer himself. Difficult questions lead to unexpected answers, forcing both of them to confront the demons of their past. This play runs Thursday through Sunday every weekend from February 24 through March 26.
