Adult Ministries
Council of Catholic Women (CCW) and Circles
All women of the parish are members. CCW works to unite all women in Christian fellowship through many activities and projects. A commission system in six areas; family affairs, church communities, organization services, community affairs, international affairs, and legislation concerns. CCW meets four times a year.
There are three Circles: Saint Isabella, Saint Elizabeth, and Saint Theresa each meet monthly, September through May.

Greeting Card Ministry
This ministry sends greeting cards to members of the parish and community to let them know that someone is thinking of them. If you would like to make cards for this ministry or volunteer to send them out each month.
Meal Ministry
Meal Ministry serves families or individuals in times of need in a tangible way. Meals are provided to those experiencing a crisis due to illness, accident, or other unforeseen circumstances. Parishioners can expect to be called a couple times a year to participate.
Ministry of Praise (Prayer Line)
A spiritual ministry in which we offer prayers, joys and sufferings to God for the salvation of souls. Who can belong? Anyone who would like to belong, including the homebound. No dues. No meetings. Rosary, Mass and breakfast once a month.What will I have to do? Pray for the world and especially members of our parish and all whose names are submitted to the prayer line.

Prayer Shawl
Care and the love of knitting and crochet have been combined into a prayerful ministry that reaches out to those in need of comfort and solace. This ministry meets at Saint Michael’s. If you have questions or would like to become a part of this ministry,

Quilting Bee Cause
Ladies of the parish who meet on Tuesdays in the church hall to make quilts to give to care providers who inturn distribute them to those in need.

Children and Youth Programs
Faith Formation
Responsible for instilling, in young and old alike, the desire for lifelong learning of our faith. Opportunities exist for parish members to serve as teachers for all ages as needed.Contact Fr. Kasel at 356-4280.
Missions
Kitui
Work with members of the southeast deanery in developing our partnership, by hosting and visiting our brothers and sisters in Kitui, to write a mission statement, plan future activities.

Parish Wide Ministries
Cemetery
Responsible for establishing rates, setting standards, maintenance of cemetery grounds, maintaining up-todate records and future plans. Establishes and maintains the cemetery trust fund.

Choir
Music ministry enriches the assembly’s worship and calls it to sung prayer. The adult choir is open to all who wish to use their gift of song.

Eucharistic Ministers
This ministry extends the spirit of communion by assisting in the distribution of the Precious Body and Blood of Christ to our Parish Community which includes but not limited to our shut- ins and nursing home residents. This ministry is open to anyone 16 years or older who has received the Sacrament of Confirmation.

Finance Council
Requires knowledge of financial statements and a budget process. Recommends financial goals and objectives as well as the parish annual budget. Reviews all parish financial transactions. Meets quarterly.

Lector
The Lector proclaims the scriptures so as to involve the community in “actively listening” to the Word of God. With proper training, this ministry involves prayerful preparation of the assigned readings and enthusiastic presentation to the assembly about every three or four weeks. High School students are encouraged to
become lectors.

Musicians
Anyone with strong keyboard or other musical instrument skills is encouraged to become an accompanist. A variety of instruments strengthens our music at liturgy. There are opportunities for cantors to lead song individually or in a small group. Cantors are dedicated to the role of “leader of sung prayer.”

Servers
Mass Servers have an important function at liturgy as they model for the community a spirit of reverence and prayerful attitude, and provide helpful service at the altar. Parents’ help in mentoring this ministry is invaluable.

Ushers
This group welcomes all who come through our doors at the Church of St. Michael. Hospitality Ministers greet and collect the gifts at Mass. They assist those with special needs.
