Archbishop Hebda has decided to dispense all parishioners of Archdiocesan parishes from the obligation to attend Holy Mass this weekend and for upcoming weekends until further notice.
This means that if you are concerned about getting sick due to the corona virus or are now sick, you can understand that you may stay home without incurring guilt for the sin. Please note that all Holy Masses will go on as scheduled, according to the archbishop’s message.
Furthermore, Archbishop Hebda is asking the faithful of our Archdiocese to voluntarily undertake a day of fasting and abstinence like what we practice on Ash Wednesday on Wednesday, March 18. The usual rules would apply regarding those who are under or over the age specifications or have a specific health condition as mentioned in my mailing at the beginning of Lent.
If you have any questions, please contact the parish office.
Let us pray that our good Lord may grant us strength, peace and healing for all who are ill!
God bless you all!
In Christ through Mary,
Solemnity of St. Joseph—March 19
Prayer to St. Joseph: Oh, St. Joseph, whose protection
is so great, so strong, so prompt before the
throne of God. I place in you all my interests and
desires. Oh, St. Joseph, do assist me by your powerful
intercession, and obtain for me from your Divine Son
all spiritual blessings, through Jesus Christ, our
Lord. So that, having engaged here below your heavenly
power, I may offer my thanksgiving and homage
to the most loving of Fathers.
Oh, St. Joseph, I never weary of contemplating you, and Jesus asleep
in your arms; I dare not approach while He reposes near your heart.
Press Him in my name and kiss His fine head for me and ask Him to
return the Kiss when I draw my dying breath. St. Joseph, Patron of
departing souls - pray for me. Amen.
Please pray for the repose of the soul of Francis Kelly, (a longtime parishioner), who passed away on March 7. ‘Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord; and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. Amen. May his soul and all the souls of the faithful departed, through the Mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.’
With announcements from our Minnesota State Governor and
the President of the United States of America regarding the corona
virus and the practical steps stated to care for the health of
people in our communities it is best to cancel / postpone our St.
Patrick’s Ham Dinner that was to be held this Sunday, March 15.
May God bless you and anyone affected by the corona virus and
any other illness!
In Christ through Mary,
